The Woodlands wedding venue in Morrison, Colorado is one of my absolute favorites to photograph, as it’s a pristine, purpose-built wedding venue with vaulted ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers, and spaces for an indoor or outdoor ceremony.

This purpose-built wedding space is owned and designed by a local couple, who got into the wedding industry so that they could spend more time together — how romantic is that! They’re always so friendly and willing to assist too, which really elevates your wedding experience here.
With a vintage-inspired barn that’s completely pristine, with clean, whitewashed walls and epic vaulted ceilings, this unique space is so damn beautiful! It’s been designed with intent, with modern weddings in mind, considering every little detail that will help craft a celebration that you and your guests will love.
You can completely customize both the interior and exterior to suit your style, with a fantastic lawn, offering mountain views, for your romantic outdoor ceremony. Woodlands honestly has everything you need all in one place and can host up to 200 guests for your wedding.
Another feature I love is that Woodlands has huge getting-ready spaces for both parties. The Bridal Cottage is a completely separate space, beautifully designed and with a huge back deck, looking out on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains — perfect for popping champagne with your besties! The men’s space is just as great, complete with a pool table, which is so fun for chilling out with your buddies before the ceremony.

Woodlands is such a dreamy wedding destination when it comes to photography, as we have so many gorgeous opportunities to take photos here. Outdoors, you’ll love the beautiful mountain views, framed by towering pines and natural landscapes, delivering those quintessential Colorado shots I know you’ll love!
As a bonus, drone photos and videos are allowed here, so we can really capture the dramatic views of the surrounding areas.
Woodlands itself photographs so nicely also, both indoors and outdoors — the bold black lines of the white barn’s door add great contrast to your shots, and the interior elevated ceilings let in plenty of natural light, ideal for airy, artistic photos.
You’re likely to see deer here too — they’re super friendly and come close to Woodlands, so what a cool addition that would be to your wedding photography!

Best Time Of Year For A Woodlands Colorado Wedding Celebration
You can absolutely get married anytime at Woodlands, but my fav times to shoot here are in spring, summer, and fall. Spring and summer bring such beautiful, vibrant color, a gorgeous contrast against the stark white paint of Woodlands. The barn is both heated and air-conditioned, so you won’t need to worry about the weather.
A winter wedding can be gorgeous here too, however, note that the landscape can be a bit brown at this time, so it doesn’t feel as colorful or lush, but it’s worth noting that Woodlands isn’t available in Dec, Jan, or Feb of 2025, if you’re planning way ahead.
Summer and early fall are generally the busiest time of year for Colorado mountain weddings, so please book in Woodlands early so you don’t miss out on your preferred dates.
Making The Most Of Your Time At Woodlands Colorado
While Woodlands is just a short drive away from Denver, it can also be a fab destination wedding choice, as there’s tons to do for your guests in the area! The town of Morrison is best known for its proximity to the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, but the little town also has fun restaurants and shops to explore.
Positioned near the end of Bear Creek Canyon, this region is awesome for hiking and kayaking, plus, there are some great museums and galleries to visit, with plenty of hotels and B&Bs nearby. You’re also close to Dinosaur Ridge, one of the best places in the US to see dinosaur footprints!
Woodlands Hotel Wedding Packages
With a range of packages available, it’s easy to plan your wedding at Woodlands. In May through October, Saturday weddings start from $11,000, but Fridays are $9,500 and Monday-Thursday are $9,000.
In November through April, Saturdays start from $8,500, and all other weekdays from $7,500.
The venue rates include exclusive use from 12 pm – 11 pm, plus all set-up and breakdown, use of your ceremony site, your reception and ceremony tables and chairs, and unlimited support from your Woodlands team. They do require you to have a wedding coordinator, but they can assist with suggestions for both your coordinator, catering, and other vendors. However, I can also recommend some Denver wedding vendors that I love.
Woodlands also offers a 10% discount to active military and reserves.
