Outdoor Elegance: Weddings At River Bend In Lyons, CO

Created by Ali Coşkunfrom the Noun Project

Weddings at River Bend in Lyons, Colorado are really something special! River Bend and its sister venue Farmette are gorgeous spaces for an elegant, outdoor wedding.

Set on the banks of the St. Vrain River, this huge space is framed by huge cottonwood trees, dramatic red cliffs, and large lawns and gardens. You’re right in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains here and it’s honestly such an inviting, relaxed space, completely free of pretension.

A River Bend wedding is ideal for couples looking for a sustainable, natural haven — this locally owned space is a working organic farm that creates such a damn beautiful wedding with serenity, privacy, and spectacular natural beauty. Lyons is just a short drive from Denver too, so super convenient for your guests.

Here’s why River Bend might be the perfect wedding venue for you!

A Spacious Outdoor Oasis: Your River Bend Colorado Wedding

River Bend has everything you need for an outdoor wedding, along with views to die for! Surrounded by epic sandstone cliffs and the gorgeous river, you’ll also love the cozy fire pits, the fun pine tree bar, and large patios — giving you plenty of room to relax with guests.

The venue can host up to 200 guests but this relaxed space also works well for small weddings or elopements. There are several locations for an outdoor ceremony, along with a large white sailcloth tent for your dinner and reception.

If you’d rather host your reception indoors, you can book the Farmette, just five minutes down the road, offering a gorgeous timber barn — ideal if you’re planning your wedding here in the cooler months.

The whole River Bend wedding venue just has a cute, quaint vibe, complete with a fun glamping tent where you can get ready, adorable farm animals, and even a flower garden that can be used for your florals and bouquets — talk about keeping it local!

If your guests want to stay the night, Wee Casa is also on the River Bend property, an awesome collection of tiny homes. The houses are walking distance to your wedding, and back home at the end of the night, which is definitely something all of your guests will appreciate!

This venue is very LGBQT friendly and everyone is welcome!

Dramatic Views & Serene Farm Landscapes: Wedding Photos At River Bend Colorado

This serene venue provides SO many opportunities for gorgeous and unique photography! As your River Bend wedding photographer, I’ll ensure we make the most of the golden afternoon light here, as the sun hits the red sandstone cliffs to create colors that are just out of this world!

River Bend can be designed to suit your style, but it works particularly well for bohemian or vintage vibes — your hire package even includes the use of a vintage 1954 Chevy truck as a prop, which can be positioned anywhere you like! This would look AMAZING in your wedding pictures, especially if you love everything retro. Their Insta is a great way to get a feel for the type of images we could take here too.

However, with soaring trees, open green spaces, and the relaxing river, there are also plenty of opportunities to add that gorgeous natural Colorado scenery into your vibrant, true to color wedding photos. As a working farm, we can also incorporate the gardens or animals into your images, which would make for really wholesome, beautiful content!

It’s also so secluded, as the river wraps around the property, so no need to worry about random folks being in the background of your images.

The Best Time Of Year To Enjoy The River Bend Colorado Wedding Venue

River Bend is definitely best suited to the warmer months, in part because it’s mostly an outdoor space. I recommend spring through fall, as not only will the weather be lovely, but everything is lush and green, with all of the flowers in bloom.

Late spring is particularly great, as the colors of the blooming florals and trees will be out in full force, adding such a whimsical element to your wedding photos.

Make The Most Of Your Time In Lyons, Colorado

While Lyons is easily accessible from Denver, it would also be a fab choice for a destination wedding! It’s a small town with a historic museum, but it’s also an awesome jumping-off point for outdoor activities.

Lyons is close to Estes Park and the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, so you could easily plan a day trip here with your guests. Plus, the whole area is just rich in nature to explore via hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, or fly fishing.

In addition to the tiny homes on-site, there are also a few lodges in Lyon or plenty of hotel options in Estes Park.

River Bend Wedding Package Options

If you’re considering River Bend, definitely go have a look at it for yourself! It’s easy to book a tour via their website. Their pricing is dependent on the day of the week: $5,000 on Monday through Thursday, $6,500 on Friday and Sunday, and $8,500 on Saturday.

Each package includes access from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm, along with use of all facilities, tables and chairs, a personal venue manager, and your chosen ceremony location. They also have a preferred vendor list for suppliers and can arrange your wedding flowers straight from the farm, with notice. The casual nature of River Bend works well for food trucks too, which is a fun and affordable alternative to more formal catering.

And, being a farm, you can even hire donkeys and burrows to be part of your day, which would be such a fun surprise for your guests.

It’s worth noting that River Bend is an acoustic venue, with limits on sound amplification. However, they encourage silent discos, which is actually such a unique and fun vibe for your reception — everyone can groove to their own music and have such a killer time! However, a reception at the Farmette is a great alternative, if you’re keen for tunes, since that venue space does allow amplification, with some limits.
